Whippet Rescue Information: The Whippet is a small, elegant, Greyhound-like breed. Whippets are calm and affectionate. Whippets are excellent with respectful children and get along fine with dogs. A Whippet is not a good choice for a home with non-canine pets. Whippets need to be protected from extreme cold. With enough exercise, a Whippet does fine in an apartment or a home with a small yard.

Whippet Trivia: Whippets can sprint at speeds up to 37 miles per hour. The Whippet was recognized by the English Kennel Club in 1890. The Whippet is one of the most popular sight hounds. Whippets have been bred since at least 1610.
