**In most cases, the exact breed of our pets available for adoption is not known and is assigned based upon appearance.** COOPER is an 8 month old male Whippet mix approx 33 lb and, like all sight hounds, is a spirited boy. He is very slender in build with some beautiful markings. He knows how to 'sit' and is a very smart young man. He is a little shy at first meeting with other dogs, but once he is comfortable he will let the good times roll. He is good with cats and kids and is housebroken. Please visit www.pawstn.com to find our adoption application link if he may be your next family member. The donation to adopt is $200- The average ... (Read More)cost of vaccinations, deworming, micro chipping, spay/neuter, heartworm testing and a month's care is $200. If your dog's expenses are covered by your adoption fee, the remainder of the fee goes straight to the dogs to pay for food, medical care and the dogs daily needs. Your fee helps us rehabilitate a dog with long term needs or save a weak puppy. You might be buying time and life for a large dog, a black dog, or a shy dog, a dog whose life is not a financial practicality. When you adopt one of our dogs, you are not buying a pet; you are supporting our life saving rescue work. YOU MUST COMPLETE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION/BE APPROVED PRIOR TO MEETING ANY PET. PIease Read Before Adopting a Whippet in Tennessee
Whippet Dogs can make good pets in Tennessee if they match your IifestyIe. The Whippet is a small, elegant, Greyhound-like breed. Whippets are calm and affectionate. Whippets are excellent with respectful children and get along fine with dogs. A Whippet is not a good choice for a home with non-canine pets. Whippets need to be protected from extreme cold. With enough exercise, a Whippet does fine in an apartment or a home with a small yard.
