|Rescue Me ID: 18-01-08-00513Izzy (female)|
Please read the entire description. Izzy's adoption fee is $175. If her ad is still available, we are still accepting applications. The first and required step of the adoption process is to complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Meet Isabella. This adorable little girl was found as a stray and never claimed. It's sad enough to find a dog that no one is looking for, but then to see that she has recently had pups. She is far too young to have been a mother. We are guessing that Izzy, as we like to call her, is just under a year old. She is pretty petite and weighs about 40 pounds. We love Izzy and her bashful, affectionate, and playful self. Izzy seems to like to play with larger dogs. She can be a bit of a rough house type of player. and can be a bit too much for cats. She will be in your lap as often as possible. children will have to be ok with her obsessive desire to touch and hug. She loves to play with toys and is great on leash. She has been learning a lot in her foster home. Izzy does know how to sit and sometimes shake. She is completely house trained and crate trained. Izzy loves sticks and balls, but sticks are probably her favorite. She is decent about playing a proper game of fetch, but sometimes ADD kicks in and she if off doing something else. Izzy is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and heartworm negative. If you are interested in Izzy, please complete an application at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 17-12-07-00365Irish (male)|
My name is Irish. I'm sure you recognize me! I have some quirks that seem to deter adopters. But I also know how good of a dog I can be and how much I will love you. I've been turned into the shelter three times now. My biggest challenge is separation anxiety. I don't like being away from you. I try to be okay with it, but it is hard for me. I would love a home where my owners are home most of the time, and can work with me to help me understand they will always come home to me. I want you to know that I am a much different dog in the home than in the shelter environment. I like taking naps with you in the home, I will take any chance I can to ask for a belly rub, and I love to greet people when I see them. I do have a bit of energy. Luckily, running is one of my most favorite things to do. And I am good at it! I'm only 33 pounds and I don't pull very much on the leash so I am easy to take with! I can go for miles and can keep up the pace with you. I've been at the shelter for several months total. It is a difficult place for me regardless of how hard my people here try to keep me calm. I used to enjoy hanging out with other dogs my size or larger, but lately I've preferred to just be by myself. Once I am able to calm down a bit in a home setting, I may be able to be re-introduced to other dogs. I am not a fan of smaller dogs, though. However, I am respectful of cats and do well with them if they are nice to me, too. My friends at the shelter tell me that I am really a good boy, but that I do need a specific family who can help me overcome things that are obstacles for me. I want a family to love. Please consider coming to meet me. I hope you will give me a chance. Love, Irish. (Less)

Whippet Dogs can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. The Whippet is a small, elegant, Greyhound-like breed. Whippets are calm and affectionate. Whippets are excellent with respectful children and get along fine with dogs. A Whippet is not a good choice for a home with non-canine pets. Whippets need to be protected from extreme cold. With enough exercise, a Whippet does fine in an apartment or a home with a small yard.
